At Future Integrated School, I had the privilege of observing Sir Marcelo Madregal's class, where his teaching methods showcased a blend of traditional and modern approaches. He employed blended teaching, effectively combining in-person instruction with digital tools and online resources. This approach facilitated a more interactive and engaging learning experience for the students.

Sir Marcelo emphasized active learning by encouraging students to participate in discussions, group work, and hands-on activities. The integration of technology was notable, with the use of educational games, multimedia presentations, and online platforms to enhance the lessons.

Teaching grade 8 students, Sir Marcelo maintained a balanced pace—neither too fast nor too slow—ensuring that the lessons were easily comprehensible. His patience with students who were not very proficient in English was commendable, as he diligently ensured that all his students understood the material. He made efficient use of time and demonstrated exemplary teaching skills, which I found inspiring and incorporated into my teaching demonstrations.

Overall, the teaching methods at Future Integrated School aimed to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment, aiding students in developing both academic and practical skills.

1.3 Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers

At Future Integrated School, the educators employ a diverse array of learning resources and technologies to enhance the educational experience. Traditional textbooks provide foundational knowledge and are frequently supplemented with digital resources, such as interactive e-books enriched with quizzes and images. Educational software supports various subjects, aiding students in practicing and understanding concepts more effectively.

Online platforms offer additional learning materials, assignments, and assessments. Multimedia presentations, including slideshows, videos, and animations, make lessons engaging and visually stimulating. Educational games integrate play into learning, making education enjoyable and interactive. In the classroom, devices like tablets and computers are utilized to access digital resources, complete assignments, and participate in interactive activities.

Additionally, project-based learning tools support hands-on projects, encouraging students to tackle real-world problems and develop critical thinking skills. These technologies and resources are seamlessly integrated into teaching methods, creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment that fosters both academic and practical skills in students.

1.4 Authentic assessment used by the teachers

At Future Integrated School, educators employ a variety of authentic assessment methods to evaluate students' understanding and skills in real-world contexts. These methods include project-based assessments, where students undertake projects that require the application of knowledge and skills to real-world problems, thereby promoting critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Performance tasks also play a significant role, as students demonstrate their understanding through activities such as presentations, experiments, and role-playing, thus providing a practical application of their learning.

For instance, the teacher I observed integrated the lessons into real-life scenarios, highlighting responsibilities such as household chores and school events. This approach allows students to relate the material to their own experiences, thereby enhancing their comprehension.

Additionally, oral recitations are conducted, where educators assess students' understanding through verbal responses, offering them opportunities to articulate their knowledge and thought processes.

These authentic assessment methods contribute to a comprehensive and realistic evaluation of students' abilities, preparing them for real-life challenges and promoting a deeper understanding of the subject matter. 1.5 Others: Reflection
